December at Gallery 10: Sutter Creek Artist Brent Parsons

Gallery 10 welcomes a new show from Sutter Creek artist Brent Parsons for December.  Brent is known for his skill in a variety of media.  He paints large landscapes and gorgeous skies using pastels.  Brent’s smaller watercolors of local vistas in Sutter Creek are delightful.  Recently Brent has spent time perfecting his skill with etchings.  All of Brent’s work reflects his love for the foothills and backroads of Amador County.

On Saturday, December 7, the gallery will host a reception for Brent.  He will bring his guitar and entertain all the guests with his music.  Stop by and say hi, enjoy Brent’s collection of artwork and his music, have a snack, and browse the gallery.  Brent’s work will be hanging all of December, ready for you to make a selection for your personal collection.  The show kicks off the holiday season, and Sutter Creek will be in a festive holiday mood. Everyone is welcome.

June at Gallery 10: Dave Manousos

Dave Manousos is a fine artist originally from Oakland, CA, currently residing in Northern California Gold Country. His artwork is regularly showcased in various regions including the San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California Sacramento region, and Southern California, including Las Laguna and San Diego. Additionally, he has exhibited his work in numerous locations on the East coast as well as recently in Zurich, Switzerland.

Specializing in acrylic medium painting, Manousos is best known for his "Big Eye Collection." This collection seamlessly combines his illustration and painting techniques, prominently featuring an oversized eye on one side of the face.

His artwork is characterized by vibrant colors, textured layers, and abstract shapes, all of which work together to depict nostalgic imagery of individuals from his own life. Manousos seeks to capture fragmented moments and preserve history through his art. Drawing inspiration from memories of past relationships, family members, and significant life events, his paintings serve as narratives of profound interpersonal connections.

With his art, Manousos aims to evoke nostalgia, stir deep emotions, and leave a lasting impression on those who experience his creations.

Dave’s paintings for June at Gallery 10 showcase a new avenue for him.  “Celestial Observations and Other Bold Statements” is the very exciting headline for this show.  The gallery will host a reception on Saturday, June 1, 2-5 P.M. for Dave.  Everyone is welcome to visit, see this new show, enjoy refreshments, and have a good time!

Dave’s show will hang all of June.  The gallery is open Thursday-Monday, 11-5.  Gallery 10 is at 15 Eureka St., Sutter Creek, next door to Rosa’s Mexican Restaurant and across the street from Gold Dust Pizza.

January at Sutter Creek Gallery: "The Inkest" Kirk Neiberger

Pen and ink artist Kirk Neiberger, who calls himself "The Inkist", creates drawings from photos, most of which he takes himself.  He particularly loves to interpret local structures and scenes but his pen travels to far-flung places as well.  He releases limited-edition, high quality Giclee prints of his original drawings which he personally hand-titles and numbers. These prints also come with a signed certificate of authenticity. The artist will be featured at Sutter Creek Gallery during the month of January, with an opening reception on Saturday, January 6, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Neiberger’s work is characterized by an attention to detail, as shown by how he depicts  the bark on trees or the weathered wood on old buildings or the wide variety of foliage in landscapes.  Local landmarks are a favorite subject, many of them in Sutter Creek where he lives.  Landscapes of wineries and byways around the area are also shown.  This collection includes coastal scenes of Pt. Reyes, Tomales Bay and Mendocino as well.  Neiberger often draws local oaks and conifers, sometimes singly or as part of a landscape.  While many of his images are entirely black and white, others are enhanced with bits or splashes of watercolor.

Kirk Neiberger is one of twenty-two local artists exhibiting at the gallery located in the heart of Sutter Creek at 40 Main Street.  Besides original paintings and photography, the gallery offers numerous affordable items including prints, cards, jewelry, pottery, and fused glass.  Custom matting and framing services are also available.  The gallery is open Thursday through Monday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For additional information, call 209-267-0228, email suttercreekgallery@gmail.com, or visit  www.suttercreekgallery.com.
