The fast approaching February 22nd deadline is only for the banner design submission. The artists will have many weeks to paint their banners. This is a very fun event in Placerville and the completed banners actually hang on the lamp posts in downtown Placerville throughout the year until September. At that point they are taken down and sold at auction during the wine and Art Festival on September 7th. It is a very fun free to the public event although the wine tasting requires a ticket.

2019 Banners on Parade Call to Artists

Placerville Art on Parade is excited to have artists submit designs for this summer’s 2019
Banners on Parade art exhibit on Placerville’s Main Street! The painted banners will be
displayed on light poles on Main Street throughout the summer months. Our theme this year is
“The Sierra Nevada”.
The primary sponsor of the Banners on Parade is Images of Hope (imagesofhopeeldorado.org).
The banners will have their premiere at the Images of Hope “White on White” event on Sunday,
June 2 at Rainbow Orchards. After that, the banners will go on display on Main Street until early
September.
The banners will be auctioned off at the September 7th Art & Wine Festival on Main Street.
Proceeds from the auction benefit Placerville Art on Parade to enable more wonderful
community art on Main Street in future years.
We invite artists, craftsmen, designers, architects and art students to submit designs for the 2019
Banners on Parade by February 22, 2019 via mail to the address on the application. Download,
print and fill out the 2019 Banners on Parade Call to Artists and Application available at
placervilleartonparade.org and submit your application by 2/22/2019.
