Annie Hughes is returning as Guest Artist at Gallery 10 for the month of March. Annie came to
Sutter Creek in 2007 and joined Gallery 10 shortly thereafter as a member. After several years,
Annie moved on, so this show in March is like a Homecoming for Annie. We welcome her
bright, colorful designs that tell a story of her many travels and experiences throughout her life
as an artist.
Annie trained as an artist in East Tennessee at the Arrowmont Craft School in the Smokey
Mountains. She was a quilter and fiber artist for 20 years in Tennessee. Upon coming to Sutter
Creek, Annie met up with the “love of her life,” Jerry, with whom she shared the love of making
art. She moved to Pine Grove at that time and worked side by side with Jerry, involving herself
in the Foothill’s community of artists and craftspeople. Annie has shown her work in various
venues over the years in Amador County. Having this show at Gallery 10 is like Coming Home
for Annie. “I look forward to seeing and visiting with many friends and catching up,” Annie
says.
A reception will be held for Annie on Saturday, March 1, 2-5 P.M. at Gallery 10, 15 Eureka St.,
Sutter Creek. Stop in, enjoy a snack, and visit with Annie. Surround yourself with her colorful,
uplifting paintings, created with acrylic paints and oil pastels. Her show will hang all of March.
Gallery Hours are 11-5, Thursday-Monday. We look forward to seeing you!
