About the Call: Step into the mesmerizing world of Golden State, our second annual juried exhibition that embraces the multifaceted essence of California. We implore artists explore the rich themes of California’s golden landscapes (flora and fauna), the allure of its historical gold rush, golden sunsets and the radiant brilliance of the color itself through striking golden hues.
Further, embrace the limitless possibilities of artistic expression as Golden State beckons artists to explore the boundless interpretations of the term, extending beyond the geographical connotations to encompass the golden moments, emotions, and aspirations that shape our lives and transform our state of mind.
Juror: We are very excited to introduce this years exhibition juror, Linda Nunes. Linda is a prominent figure in the art world in and around the Sacramento area for over 20 years. Nunes has an art degree from CSU, Sacramento and she currently works in her Rancho Cordova, CA studio. She has won many awards for her abstract or surreal encaustic and cold wax/oil paintings. Her work have been hung in many prestigious galleries and museums in the broader Sacramento area. The piece that best captures the theme of the show will be awarded ‘Best of Show’ and receive a prize of $150. |
