ACAA Open Studios to hold Preview Art Show & Reception on September 3

Annual Open Studios Tour is promised to be a special one.

The 10th Annual Amador County Artists Association’s Open Studios Tour is scheduled for Saturday September 17th and Sunday the 18th this year in the scenic hills of the Gold Country. With 20 locations throughout the county featuring 43 local artists there will be something for everyone.

The FREE self-guided tour will be open each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and maps will be available online and multiple locations throughout the county. New this year will be a Preview Show with a representation from every participating artist at the AmadorArts Gallery opening Saturday, September 3, in coordination with the monthly Art Trek. The gallery is located at 11A Randolph St. in Sutter Creek and will be a great place to organize your tour. The Opening Reception takes place September 3rd from 3 to 6 p.m. and the public is invited.

And don’t forget, as in previous years, there is a Fine Art Raffle that benefits ACAA’s student art scholarship program. Each participant donates a piece of art to the raffle and with this talented group of artists there is bound to be something you would like to take home while helping an art student further their studies.

This event, popular with locals and visitors alike, gives the public a chance to talk to artists about their work and creative process. Many artists will have demonstrations going throughout the weekend. There will be group locations featuring three to six artists, as well as private studios of working artists in Jackson, Sutter Creek, Amador City, Fiddletown, Pine Grove, and Pioneer. Original work will be for sale at all locations and many artists will also offer prints, cards, and other work related to their art.

For more information visit the website at www.ACAAOpenStudios.com or the event page Amador County Open Studios on Facebook. Amador County Artists Association is a non-profit organization that provides support and information to artists in Amador County and encourages the production, cultivation and appreciation of art.
