September at Gallery 10: "Visual Banquet" - New Paintings by Marleen Olive

Gallery 10 in Sutter Creek is pleased to celebrate new paintings by Marleen Olive for the month of September.  Marleen is an owner/member of Gallery 10.  She has a new collection of watercolors, acrylics and inks which show a myriad of techniques and styles.

Marleen is always in search of new ways to paint, exploring the many possibilities of painting to achieve the most exciting results.  She uses nature and texture is an integral part of her painting.

Marleen was an Art Instructor at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Brookings, Oregon, for 13 years before moving to Amador County in 1999.  She has won many awards for her work, in shows both in Oregon and California.  She has been on the boards of several art associations, including her current role as president of the Amador County Artists Association.

“It is important to me that I promote the artists in our community so they can achieve their artistic goals,” says Marleen.  She is currently giving classes in watercolor at the Amador Arts Council in Jackson.  The classes are for both beginners and more advanced painters, with an emphasis on using a limited palette.

A reception will be held for Marleen on Saturday, September 7, 2-5 P.M. at Gallery 10. The gallery is at 15 Eureka St., Sutter Creek, and is open Thursday-Monday 11-5.  Marleen’s show will be hanging all month.  Be sure to stop by and see these wonderful new paintings!
