Judie Cain is September's Featured Artist at Gallery 10

Judie Cain, the featured artist at Gallery 10, 15 Eureka St., Sutter Creek, for the month of September. There will be a reception for Judie on Saturday, September 5, 2-5 P.M., at the gallery, catered by the gallery, during the Saturday Amador Art Trek.  Everyone is invited!

Judie Cains oil and gouache paintings will be hanging at the gallery all month.  Gallery 10 is open Thursday - Monday, 11-5.

Judie is an oil painter from Murphys, who paints from life or from her own reference photos.  She strives to capture the light and mood of the moment using a brush.  Her colorful paintings are uplifting and inspiring.

She offers workshops on such topics as “Basic Nuts and Bolts of Oil Painting,” and “Oil Painting Demystified.”  She has taught in the western states as well as local venues.  She currently has adult summer classes covering painting fundamentals and color.  Primarily an oil painter, she has begun exploring the use of gouache, an opaque watercolor.

Judie is a native of Burlingame, CA, studied at the California College of Arts and after raising a family returned to painting full time.  She has been represented in galleries in Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, California, including Murphys, Sonora, Copperopolis and Carmel.  She has works in print and has some giclee done on home products.  Her works are collected worldwide.

Judie lives in Murphys with her husband, Lou Papais, where she has a studio.
