Sutter Creek Gallery (SCG) is pleased to announce the
addition of two affiliated groups: Phantom Gallery and We Art You.
These two
groups of artists were formed as a result of a SCG members’ meeting held early
in the spring, when members agreed it was important to reach out to the
community. It was decided that SCG would
present exhibits that would result in varying amount of sales being given to local
charities.
June saw
Phantom Gallery’s first event held at Bellflower Garden Store in Amador City. Gold Pan Merchants received checks from the
participating artists. These monies will
be used to enhance the garden atmosphere in Amador City.
August
will see the three groups (SCG, Phantom Gallery and We Art You) exhibiting as
follows:
SUTTER CREEK GALLERY: On “Hot August Nights” Art Trek on August 1 Sutter Creek Gallery featured artistic fans for
sale for $5 each. All of the proceeds
went to Amador County Arts Council for its children’s art programs.
PHANTOM:
Petco’s special event is August 22, from 10 to 2. Amador County artists paint and photograph to
the venue, so all artwork will be animal related. In addition, the 12 participating Amador
County artists will produce a calendar of their work. Up to 30% of proceeds from the event will go
to the Animal Shelter in Martell.
WE ART YOU:
State Farm Insurance in Jackson will be part of the Art Trek for August
and will show two “salon-style gallery walls” of scenes of Amador County by
members of SCG. Up to 30% of the
proceeds will go to “Camp Out for Cancer,” the choice of Jim and Anne Lintz,
owners of State Farm Insurance.
